- India is the seventh largest country in the world with an area of 3.28 million sqaure km, which is 2.42% of world's area.
- India is second most populos country in the world with a population of 1.21 billion, which is 17.44 % of the world.
- Indian subcontinent is located in the eastern and northern hemisphere.
- India shares its boundary with seven countries, longest boundary with Bangladesh (4096 km), followed by China (3488 km), Pakistan (3323 km), Nepal (1751 km), Afghanistan (106 km), Myanmar (1643 km) and Bhutan (699 km).
- The Radcliffe Line, the geopolitical border which divides India and Pakistan, came into existence on August 17, 1947.
